Cream Jug and Sugar Bowl – Work in Progress

Cream Jug and Sugar Bowl

This Ceramic Cream Jug and Sugar Bowl set is a part of my new ceramic line. They are to complement the Mug I also have done. In the above picture they have only been molded and dried and are now ready for their first trip into the ceramic oven – hopefully with a couple of my new mugs.

As I am writing this we are in Corona Lockdown and as I do not have my own oven, I cannot get them fired at the moment.

Both of these as well as the mugs have been made using the slab-modeling method. before piecing the bottom slab and the sides together, I applied the pattern to the side slab of both the Cream Jug and the Sugar Bowl.

In this series is also our Clay Mugs.

Rag doll Margret – in support of Knæk Cancer

Nussedukke Margret

I made this rag doll in honour of my Mother Margret whom we lost too early to cancer in 1992 and to support Knæk Cancer – a cancer awareness in Denmark.

Margret was made with inspiration from Nusse-dukke Lene created by Tina Christensen. You can get further information in the Nusse-dukke Lene Facebook group (membership may be needed) .

The star on her chest is the logo of Knæk Cancer – an annual awareness week used to fundraise in favour of cancer projects and research. This runs in week 43 in Denmark.

Margret the Knæk Cancer rag doll was auctioned off in support of Knæk Cancer and raised DKK 2000 – approx USD 300.

Crocheted Rose – an attempt at crocheting

Pink Crosheted Rose
PInk Crocheted Rose
Pink Crocheted Rose

I crocheted this beatiful Pink Rose in 2-3 days. Each petal is chrocheted individually and then sown together. Likewise with the leaves on the stem.

This was one of my first attempts at crocheting anything other than simple dish cloths.

The pictures of this particular Crocheted Rose is my first attempt. I crocheted it so quickly as it was a gift to a colleague, that was promoted to an international position, so I had a deadline.

I made another with red petals that I also gave away as a gift.
